Dear Chino Fans,
We are pleased to provide you with a press update highlighting the celebrations that took place to mark the opening of Berlin Fashion week where an exclusive party was held at our Berlin store in Friedrichstrasse!
Monday 2nd July saw the hipster crowd of Berlin indulging their twin passions of fashion and music. Guests were invited to a very exclusive sneak preview of the Autumn Winter 2012 collection ahead of its launch on July 19 and were treated to £25 gift cards to spend on the new collection. Guests drank Babuska vodka cocktails and Tiger beer whilst being entertained by a flawless live performance from renowned dance act Azari & III. Guests included: Eva Padberg, Ben Ivory and Blitz Kids
About AllSaints Spitalfields
AllSaints was originally founded in 1994 as a menswear brand, quickly gaining a reputation as the destination for vintage inspired design. Autumn Winter 1998 saw the move into the womenswear market and the continuation of its original sensibility; to focus on fresh and innovative design, detail, technique and fabrication. Autumn Winter 2012 marks another stage in the evolution of the brand with the presentation of Nouvelle Vague – a new wave of cohesive clothing that delivers a uniform built from disparate elements. The collection displays a clear evolution and a deliberate contrast between simplicity and conscious provocation.
About Azari & III
Azari & III have always been outsiders and iconoclasts. Alixander III, Dinamo Azari, Fritz Helder and Starving Yet Full first came across each other in the mid-00sTorontounderground club scene, to which they’d all gravitated on moving to the city to pursue their creative dreams – and it was their sense of being misfits even in a community of outsiders that drew them together.
Their music-making ranged from fusing modern technology with native folk music in previous outfits, and both were heavily into improvisation and crazy old synthesisers – all of which continue to influence the spontaneous, instinctive way in which Azari & III now make music . At all times, Azari & III are spontaneous and hedonistic – qualities that, for Alixander and Azari, stem back to their first ever musical projects. Experimentation with vintage synths and improvisation were key to their work – and even now, that’s how they prefer to work. Fast forward to 2010, when they first thrust their way into the attention of international dance cognoscenti: again, the foursome were like no other dance act around. Their music was bold, brash, packed with hooks and full of character – and they had the visuals to match: debut video Hungry For The Power was a feast of imagery, an American Psycho meets Paris Is Burning extravaganza that was so explicit that the full version was banned from Youtube. Their eponymous debut album followed in August 2011 to widespread critical acclaim. Such is its appeal that it’s no surprise that the band have moved up to the next level: formerly on independent label Loose Lips, Island have now snapped them up and will re-release the album in January

We at a4u always like to support industry causes, especially if they are current, relevant and heartfelt. So it is with an enormous amount of excitement, and true chino love that I can confirm that Tuesday 18th October 2011 is a4uexpo ChinoTuesday!
a4uexpo have teamed up with ChinoTuesdays to bring ChinoTuesday to the industry on mass. If you are attending a4uexpo London, (if not, why not?!) in just 12 days then support ChinoTuesday and showcase your chinos, be they traditional cream, on trend plum, or even bright yellow, a4uexpo Tuesday is ChinoTuesday.
Founded by Mr Sean McAuley, ChinoTuesdays was born out of a simple appreciation of the chino. Very quickly out of nowhere a society had formed and membership was simple, all you had to do was wear chino’s on a Tuesday, take a picture of yourself in said chino’s and either tweet it to @ChinoTuesdays or upload it to the ChinoTuesdays facebook page. Chino love spread across performance marketing and all of a sudden key players in this industry were sporting their chinos on a Tuesday.
So, what you have to do;
- Arrive at a4uexpo London in your chinos, wear them with pride as you attend conference sessions. Nod knowingly at other chino wearers as you pass on the stairs.
- Take a picture of yourself in chinos and upload to the Facebook page, or tweet to @ChinoTuesday with the #a4uexpo to be uploaded.
- Meet at 6.00pm in the a4uexpo expo hall drinks reception to be part of the great a4uexpo ChinoTuesdays picture.
ChinoTuesday HQ will then select their favourite picture of the day and reward you with a very special prize, as well as the crowning glory of being the most fashionable chino wearer at a4uexpo London ChinoTuesday. What an accolade!
If you work in performance marketing and harbour a secret desire to showcase your chinos, and would like to challenge the denim of the world, then now is your moment.
Celebrate the chino at a4uexpo London!
